WINES

The local Fortana and Malvasia wine grapes are traditionally vintaged in our wineries with natural fermentation.
The grapes processing is also fundamental to give the typical and intense aroma and scent to the Fortana and Malvasia wines, besides contributing to the maintenance of the right natural microclimate of the wine-cellars.

FORTANA WINE (red grape)
This is a local vine, peculiar of this very limited area with a rather clayey soil and with particularly humid climate in winter and a hot and dry climate in summer. Once it was considered the "wine of the countrymen" who quenched their thirst after a tiring day with a glass of sparkling red wine, sweet and with a mild alcoholic strength.

Because of the today's low production this wine has become a niche product, rare but at the same time precious if combined with our pork cold meats.

Characteristics of the Fortana wine:young, endowed with a noticeable freshness and simplicity, bright ruby-red, lightly sweet, fruity and sparkling.

We suggest you to serve it cool, perfect if combined with our typical local pork cold meats (Culatello or Spalla Cruda) or with rich and filling first courses.

MALVASIA WINE (white grape)
This vine manage to give excellent sparkling white wines endowed with an high presence of aromatic substances both in the peel and in the flesh also in our flat land.
Once it was considered the "noble wine" that the countrymen drank during the feasts and on Sundays with a piece of home-made short pastry cake.

Also today it appears to be both a table and a meditation wine, elegant and intense.

Characteristics of Malvasia wine: young and sparkling, straw-coloured, aromatic.

We suggest you to serve it cool, perfect if combined with our typical local pork cold meats or with jam tarts or dry cakes.
